Well, if you read the post DaWanda na Minha Caixa de Correio / Got DaWanda in my mailbox about number 1 already know that the official DaWanda magazine is very fun and I guarantee that this number 2 is even better: more articles, tutorials, and DIY's, trip advice to European cities, thematic sections on which are included DaWanda products ... anyway, many new features on its 100 pages and yet another ... this time the 'microbe' has a product featured on page 35 :)
As I have a few copies to share ... soon there will be giveaway ....with one additional surprise;)

...E se saltássemos directamente do Inverno para o Verão ?
É essa a proposta da +Microbio Purses com a pequena colecção Beach Babes inspirada nessas fotos antigas de férias na praia com as senhoras devidamente compostas com fatos de banho inteiros e poses naif. Acho essas fotos deliciosas e por isso não resisti em criar esta coleção.
A inspiração fluiu a partir da selecção fantástica de postais vintage que encontrei na VintageImageMadness
a que acrescentei alguns elementos como selos antigos, mensagens manuscritas, avisos... criando assim as colagens que podem ver nesta colecção. Depois foi só procurar um tecido que lhes desse o realce que merecem. Este é um tecido vintage com espírito moderno já que é de algodão 100% orgânico.

+Microbio Purses suggests us to do that with this small Beach Babes collection inspired on those old vacation photos taken on the beach with ladies dressing properly with full featured swimsuits and naif poses.
I adore those photos and decided to "bring" them to this collection.
Inspiration flowed from a wonderful selection of vintage postcards by VintageImageMadness . I've added some elements like old stamps, written messages, warnings... and created the collages for this collection. Then i had to select the right fabric to make them shine and i found this vintage print with a modern spirit -its 100% organic cotton.

Procurando O Meu Nicho/Quest to Find My Niche

Muitos de nós que já tentaram algum tipo de aventura on e offline e acreditamos no nosso produto, sabemos que há um momento em que parecem termos tudo afinado, ou seja, lemos, eventualmente todos os manuais, tutoriais, artigos, posts .... sobre como vender mais e melhor. Então, neste momento as nossas lojas estão eventualmente brilhando com as melhores fotos, descrições e "tags" que sabemos fazer e escrever, os preços estão ajustados, temos um número de visitas bastante decente no(s) nosso(s) site(s) e temos mesmo alguma publicidade e difusão por aí  (melhor se for grátis!)...esta sou eu :)

Mas vendas consistentes é o que nos falta agora, certo?

Então, respirei fundo .... e saltei novamente para o desconhecido, para o que os marketeers têm a dizer e eles dizem -Defina o seu nicho! e dediquem-"lhe" todos a promoção e dinheiro em publicidade.

"Eles" são os meus clientes ideais, ansiosos para comprar os meus produtos numa base consistente ou seja, capaz de suportar a minha aventura a longo prazo. Quanto a si não sei, mas eu sabia que eles estavam lá ... em algum lugar, boas notícias, portanto :)

Nesta fase, começei a ficar submersa com a quantidade de informações disponíveis e que diz praticamente a mesma coisa e como eu luto para manter o meu dia bem equilibrado entre executar / promover / entre outras tarefas e sou mais por uma abordagem prática, numa das minhas pesquisas cegas encontrei este exercício óptimo Defining My Market Niche parte da Nutshell Series by ElasticMind. 

Este é um documento de 19 páginas (PDF) que se compra pelo valor que você lhe der... gosto do conceito e defino-o como um rápido-e-eficiente-documento-de-auto-brainstorming

Em apenas uma hora fui capaz de definir o meu nicho após "responder" a algumas questões abrangentes.

Agora que eu finalmente estão definidos os meus clientes ideais, estou pronta para procurar as publicações/media ideais onde eles estejam on e off line. Essa é a minha próxima missão :)

Many of us who ever tried some business venture both on and off line and believe in our product to begin with, know that there is a time when we seem to have everything tuned to the best of our knowledge i.e. we have read eventually all the manuals, how-to's, tutorials, posts, articles....about how to sell our makings the best way(s). So, at this point our stores are eventually shinning and glowing with the best photos, descriptions and tags we could make and write, prices are adjusted, we have pretty decent views at our site(s) and we even got some (better free!) advertising around...this is me :)

Consitent sales is what we lack now, right?

So, i took a deep breath....and jumped again this time into what the marketeers have to say and they say -Define Your Niche! and dedicate "them" your promoting and advertising efforts/money. 

"Them" are my ideal customers, the ones eager to buy my products on a consistent basis i.e. able to support my venture on the long run. Don't know about you, but i knew they were there...somewhere, so this was nothing but good knews ;)

Only at this point, i became really overwhelmed by all the information available around that says pretty much the same thing and as i struggle to keep my day well balanced between making/promoting/admin/personal tasks and i am more a hands-on approach kind of person, in one of my blind searches i found this wonderful exercise document Defining My Market Niche part of the Nutshell Series by ElasticMind. 

This is a 19 page PDF workbook that you buy for what's worth for you ... like the concept and as far as i can tell i see it as a fast-and-efficient-self-brainstorming document. 

In just one hour i was able to define my niche by "answering" a few comprehensive questions.

Now that i have finally defined my ideal customers, i am ready to the ideal publications/media where to find "them" in and off line. That's my next quest :)

You know, thing is i love to discover lovely makings and this issue is quite juicy i can assure you. It includes many DaWanda artists profiles and curious facts about their making process and mostly showcases lovely handcrafted items all over its 100 pages. In deed, very few advertising and loads of makers and makings showcases, very nice! But let me show you some that catched my eye...

Nova revista Tilda acaba de chegar/Brand new Tilda mag just arrived :)

Olhem o que chegou hoje pelo correio, a novíssima revista TILDA! Este é o primeiro número (Verão 2012) que acaba de ser publicado pela The Immediate Media Company Origin e é uma mina para os fans da Tilda (como eu!). Este número inclui 2 ofertas - um pequeno pack de tecidos para fazer uma bolsinha cujas instruções estão na revista + uma folha A4 com etiquetas impressas dentro do mesmo estilo prontinhas a usar.
Este número de 83 páginas inclui uma entrevista exclusiva a Tone Finnanger, listas de fornecedores de material Tilda, novos produtos e 5 páginas A4 de moldes para os trabalhos apresentados...a boneca da capa está incluída.
Digo que esta é uma revista bem-vinda porque resume o mundo Tilda (acho que vai ganhar mais algumas fans!)-é como um livro dos pequenoscom moldes com a frescura de uma revista-a meio caminho entre as duas. Não indicam neste número a periodicidade com que irá sair...mas trimestral acho que estaria bem :)

Look what i got in the mail today, the brand new TILDA magazine! This is the number one (summer 2012) just published by The Immediate Media Company Origin and its a goldmine for Tilda's fans (like me!). This issue comes with 2 gifts - a small fabric pack to make a small pouch for which you will find instructions inside the mag + a A4 sheet full of cute paper tags ready to embellish any making. 
This 83 pages issue includes an exclusive interview with Tone Finnanger, Tilda's stockists lists, product features and includes 5 A4 pattern pages for some lovely makings...the dottie doll on the cover is just one of them. 
I would say this is a very welcomed publication since its sums up Tilda's world (i believe some new fans are going to join soon) -its like a small Tilda's book with patterns with the fresh appeal of a mag -half way between the two. Nothing in this first issue indicates its periodicity...it would be great to have it quarterly :)

Não é segredo que adoro etiquetas de tecido...sim daquelas que as roupas trazem cozidas, coladas ou por um fio...tanto faz, sim fico "vidrada" numa etiqueta bonita e se estiverem com atenção vão ver que há etiquetas fantásticas...se já comprei uma peça de roupa por causa da respectiva etiqueta ? SIM! mas por causa da etiqueta e não da peça de roupa! Pronto, está revelado. Agora...o que fazer com elas -as etiquetas? Não acham que juntando algumas de forma criativa (costurando, colando...) dão...belos acessórios, bolsas por exemplo...como esta aqui ao lado criada por mim. 
E bem, elas, as etiquetas, são capazes de encantar um pouco por todo o mundo... a Linda dos EUA também já as tinha "descoberto"...bom na verdade foi a Linda quem primeiro descobriu e falou sobre as minhas bolsas feitas com etiquetas no se blog aqui:

It is no secret that i love cloth labels ... they come sewn, glued, on a string... whatever, my eyes get "glazed"  on a beautiful cloth label and there truly fantastic labels out there...if i ever bought a piece of clothing because of its label? YES! i bought some because of the label on itself and not the garment! Okay, it is revealed. Now ... what to do with them-THE labels? Well they become wonderful accessories if you sew/glue them together in some creative way, i came up with some pouches like the one you see above :)More good news, cloth labels are already being used in many creative ways all over the world as Linda from  the U.S. found out ... well actually it was Linda who first found and blogged about my pouches here :

Today I woke up, went to my shop on ETSY ... to find out that one of purses was included in a selection of  ETSY finds all cameo themed in a very nice blog and it seems that my little purse has contributed to change the notion that Paula (author of the blog) had of cameo themed items :) After all, they can be colorful, romantic, fun, no !? E esta é a minha versão - Tenho que confessar que ADORO esta caixinha "cupcake" da forma que acabou por ficar :) Peeeerfeita para guardar um anel, hã ?

A minha parceira foi a Sarah Plant que tem um blog engraçado aqui  http://tillymintboutique.wordpress.com/ (façam-lhe uma visitinha!). Cada uma de nós enviou uma à outra um trabalho feito à mão e outro comprado no valor até 3£ com mochos, claro-eram estas as regras.
Vejam o que eu recebi hoje: um cartão escrito pela Sarah, um pendente e um mochinho em feltro feito à mão :-D

A new swap ... this time...owls! (They are so cute, aren't they?) organized by Popular Crafts magazine.
My partner was Sarah Plant who has a funny blog here http://tillymintboutique.wordpress.com/ (go ahead have a look!). We shoud send each other a handmade owl and something purchased up to £3, these were the rules.
Look what I got today: a card handwritten by Sarah, a lovely pendant and a little owl handmade in felt

The #pinaddicts challenge - o meu projecto de Fevereiro/ my February project!

Descobri há pouco tempo uma fonte inesgotável de inspiração: o Pinterest ! e quase instantaneamente tornei-me "adicta"...
São milhares de fotos, desenhos, tutoriais, receitas, ideias (algumas deliciosas, engenhosas...) que são adicionadas ao segundo e podemos coleccioná-las todas em pastas (boards) que as deixam todas organizadinhas para consultar quando nos apetece :)
Mais recentemente juntei-me a um grupo de crafters simpáticas fans do pinterest no @twitter -os #pinaddicts.

Assim, todos os meses escolhemos um pin e fazemos a nossa versão que mostramos todas as primeiras 2as feiras de cada mês através de um link aberto especialmente para o efeito aqui pinterest challenge linky
Ah e há prémios atribuídos completamente ao acaso entre todos os participantes :)

Recently i found a massive source of inspiration:  Pinterest! and almost instantly became "addicted" to it...
Thousands of photos, drawings, tutorials, recipes, ideas (some delicious, clever ...) added every second.
We can collect them all in folders (boards) and get back to them over and over :)
Now i've joined a Pinterest challenge hosted by a group of lovely crafters on @ twitter, the #pinaddicts

So, every month each of us chooses a pin, makes our own version and we show them all the first monday of every month here  pinterest challenge linky 
Oh and there are prizes awarded at random among all participants :)

Well it took its time...and Adriana finally got it :-D
We all know that Santa is a very busy man this time of the year ;)
I am so happy she received the package just in time for Xmas (Santa knows his stuff...) and soooo flattered by her kind words...although i don't agree when she says she got a better gift because i LOVE my pillows hehe
This is the little purse and lavender sachet i made for her.. can you see the matching colors we both have chosen (see the pillows Adriana sent me here http://microbio-noar.blogspot.com/2011/12/craftaholicsanonymous-handmade-gift.html), now isn't that wonderful ?!

I renew my best Xmas wishes for Adriana, her family and friends.

YAY, i have just received my lovely pillow covers made by my partner Adriana from SERENDIPITY :-D
Adriana's gift is already in transit to Mexico...its funny you know...looks like our minds had the same thoughts at the same time because she is an "autumn girl" as she told me, so i thought... she likes autumn colours...and she made me two lovely pillow covers in autumn colours and...i made her "something" in...the very same autumn colours...*but* that's not all...there is also another detail that "proves" we had the same thought (Hey, Adriana  i am sure you are going to smile as soon as you open the box, lol) oh and we have posted our boxes with just one day gap, lovely :))

Durou todo o fim de semana e foi uma maratona no twitter para promover o evento e para habituar as pessoas à ideia de uma feira virtual com participação internacional a decorrer num servidor "perto" de nós. Para mim valeu pela ideia inovadora e que me permitiu conhecer mais algumas pessoas interessantes neste pequeno universo...e já está anunciada uma CRAFTfest Natal para breve.

Last all weekend and it was a twitter marathon to promote the event and to get people used to the idea of a virtual craft fair with international artisans running in any internet server "close" to us. For me it was an innovative experience and allowed me to meet a few interesting people in this craft world...and a CRAFTfest xmas is soon to be announced.
